It has been reported today, that cases are on the rise, and that government are going to put in place further restrictions which are being announced on Tuesday 22nd September 2020.We are expecting a further update to be issued by the ECB later on this week.With everything being equal, we will look at hosting this Final at the start of next season and make this the "showcase" final it deserves to be.I can now confirm that the Semi-Finals of this competition have now been completed.Results and Highlights of these matches are listed as below.The draw for the Final will be completed later on today, and this information will be circulated in due course.This match is to be played on Saturday 26th September (at Bromley Common CC) or on Sunday 27th September (at Bexley CC).Fingers crossed that the weather remains kind for the next week.It would be good for the committee to support the Final, once the date and venue has been confirmed.Socially distanced presentations will be completed at the conclusion of the match.Highlights - Jonathan Rodda 62, Matthew Abbett 38, Elliot Bettridge 3-31 (Old Wilsonians) ; Shaun Evans 44, Matthew Stiddard 56 (Bexley),Highlights - Elliot Fox 48 (Broadstairs) ; Viraj Bhatia 38, Alexander Williams 37, David Smith 50*, Joe McCaffrey 3-5, Michael Waller 3-36 (Tunbridge Wells).Following on from the recent news and with growing concerns over recreational cricket, the KCL Management Committee have made the decision to cancel the 50th Anniversary Dinner scheduled to be held at Lord's Cricket Ground on Friday 13th November 2020.The priority at this difficult time is for the health and safety for all players, officials and those involved in the game.It has also been highlighted that Club and League finances will be extremely stretched as the uncertainty of the coronavirus, isolation period and suspension of cricket take hold across the country.At present, no decision has been made with regards to holding a replacement event.Subject to further developments throughout the season, we can review this in due course.We will consider an alternative event, venue and date - once we have more of an idea of what is going on with recreational cricket.Our priorities remain the same ... stay safe!The League will continue to monitor the situation and keep all Clubs posted once viable options become available.KCL 50th Anniversary Dinner - November 2020.
