Nightblood is completely black, both blade and hilt. My "hindsight is 20/20" view from several decade.I don't read action stuff much, but this horror-tinged novel was a blast. Would love to find out if there is a sequel.Definitely a fun read-- think King's Salem's Lot but with lots of Uzis! There was a moment when I thought something interesting was going to happen but then it didn't.A mean-spirited Halloween prank turns into three nights of serious vampire hunting action that almost decimates the population of the small town of Isherwood, Indiana. I wish it'd panned out. While serving in Vietnam, soldier Chris … Be the first to ask a question about Nightblood.Welcome back. I stumbled on to his terrific novel "Where the Chill Waits" a few years ago and tried relentlessly to get my hands on his other 3 books. A dude hunts vampires.Originally I was going to give this 3 stars because it is for a niche audience - horror / action fans - but the more I think about it, it is perfect for the subgenre.

It checks all the boxes for 80/90s kids who love horror and Steven Segal / Jean-Claude Van Damme type action flicks. What would happen...say....if the men's adventure series "Mack Bolan" had "Salem's Lot" baby? It was later given to Szeth by Nale. Would have red this in 1-2 days if like had only fucked off for one second. It is surprisi… I don't know why Martindale isn't as big as King or Koontz. Still, it is an entertaining modern vampire romp, which suffers from being way too derivative of Salem's Lot while not being anywhere as good.I don't read action stuff much, but this horror-tinged novel was a blast. That's a great premise for a series, Martindale is an entertaining writer, and the lead character is one I'd definitely want to spend more time with.

Our lead is a hunter of evil, guided by his murdered brother's ghost, and he is guided to a small town in Indiana to seek out the evil there. When an army of the undead descends on an Indiana town, our hero goes into action in this wild vampire shoot-'em-up romp.

The main character has a pretty cool back story and I definitely recommend this read. Really gets you into the story. Nothing too deep here, but what a ride! The main vampire in this book is super obsessed with dicks. Becca Franko created the Nightblood serum for the Eligius Corporation to increase people's resistance to radiation.

Nightblood is one of those latter books, but somehow it just didn't click with me.Another riotous read from the Paperbacks From Hell series. This is a really good vampire novel from both an underrated and under-published author, T. Chris Martindale. His work is outstanding. Nightblood did not occur naturally but rather is a result of genetic engineering. There was hardly any plot besides we're going go to kill all these vampires with bunches of bullet and grenades.
