Haddock and Snowy arrive with the police just in time to save Tintin. While the pirates became drunk on rum, Francis escaped his bonds, killed Red Rackham and lit a fuse on the ship. It is a great trip down memory lane and my son loves them as well! He escaped in a small boat just before the ship exploded. It's hard to walk the balance these days. June 30th 1974 back then you got them a chapter at a time, later in complete book form like this. The story is well written with good adventure and interesting characters. One thing to note is some of the Tintin stories have two parts, but the stories are independent of each other so it is not necessary to read one part before the other.

Many questioned director Steven Spielberg and producer Peter Jackson’s decision to render Hergé’s classic series of comic-book Boy’s Own-style adventures in per The art work is much better presented and you can really put you whole focus into the story. It was so grippy!! Those two books, along with episodes from the unrelated Tintin adventure The Crab With the Golden Claws, are the basis of the Steven Spielberg-directed film The Adventures of Tintin.Liked The book a lot!! I was unsure that perhaps this interest may have diminished now that she is 14 years old. I can't afford the hardcover editions so this is the next best thing. I specially like this one because this is the story where Tin and his best friend, "blistering barnacles" Captain Haddock have their first great adventure, although we meet him in 'The Crab with the Golden Claws'.Tintin's adventures are refreshing, even though this one was written 70 years ago, as they make everything so easily available. Haddock says he’s found Francis’ manuscripts that detail his journey on the Unicorn. The scrolls are ultimately found together when Thomson and Thompson catch the man who has been stealing wallets all over town.
Tintin gets kidnapped and finds himself in castle Molenslot and find out more about the family lore of Captain Haddock.I'm not a huge fan of graphic novels but I absolutely adore Tintin and Asterix.

He makes a quick call to Haddock to reveal his location before a butler catches him. However, I read both the books myself before I sent them on and had great fun - and I am what might be said to be in my dotage. One villain explains that the man who was shot was working for them, trying to get the scrolls from Tintin and Sakharine. They have turned into a true Belgian legend! Well, I haven't. I very much like this extra-large softcover edition. I figured (as an adult) it was time to give it another whirl. The drawings are great.
